"The silver carp is also called the flying carp for its tendency to leap from the water when startled. They can grow to over 40 lb (18 kg), and can leap 10 ft (3 m) in the air. Many boaters traveling in uncovered high-speed watercraft have been injured by running into the fish while at speed. In 2003 a woman jet-skiing broke her nose and a vertebra colliding with a silver carp and nearly drowned. In another example, a teenager's jaw was broken by a silver carp while being pulled on an inner tube. Water skiing in areas where silver carp are present is extremely dangerous." - Wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_carp

This concerns the Asian Carp- Is there any one out there that can write a form letter that we all can use to send to our Federal, Provincial and State governments that would make the point that Asian Carp are not wanted and that all necessary steps must be taken to stop their infingement on the Great Lakes. If so please post it here.

There is a form letter at Stopasiancarp.com. You will need to edit it a little inorder to direct it to Provincial leadership - http://stopasiancarp.com/sample-ltr.html

Personally I am of the opinion that the Asian carp are already in Lake Michigan as of the December 8, 2009 test reported January 19, 2010 http://www.lrc.usace.army.mil/pao/Release_eDNA_19Jan2010.pdf, and I am not alone http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/asian-carp-edna-test-lake-michigan-lindsay-chadderton/Content?oid=1572155
It's curious we don't hear more of this and that the eDNA testing seems to have stopped with the last report available being June 11th.
